There are 8 bowls of soup left in the pot because one quart is equal to 4 cups so each bowl of soup is half a quart and 2 half make one whole then you do that process over again. So you have used 2 quarts. Then you take 4 and multiple by 4 (because you have 4 quarts left and each quart is 4 cups) Then divide by 2 because each bowl of soup is 2 cups. And you are left with 8 bowls of soup
