Answer:

The diameter of the model is 14.4 inches.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Diameter of the moon = 2,160 miles

The scale on the model represents 1 in = 150 miles

Let the model represents k inches in 2,160 miles.

So, by the Ratio of Proportionality:

\frac{1}{150}   = \frac{k}{2160}

⇒k = \frac{2160}{150} \\\implies k =  14.4

or, k = 14.4 inches

⇒On the scale 2160 miles is represented as 14.4 inches

    Hence the diameter of the model is 14.4 inches.

How do you get x trigonometry
Svetlanka [38]
Quick vocab:
sin=sine
cos=cosine
tan=tangent
theta=the angle
o=opposite side from angle
h=hypotenuse of triangle
a=adjacent side to angle

Three equations:
sin(theta)= o / h
cos(theta)= a / h
tan(theta)= o / a

Explanation of problem:

sin(x)= o / h
sin(x)= 16cm / 28cm
You'll substitute the 16cm in for o and 28cm for h
This is because 16cm is on the side that's opposite from the angle
28cm is on the hypotenuse of the triangle
One way to find the hypotenuse is look where the 90° is at and it's opposite from that

since you're trying to find the angle you'll have to inverse the sin to get it on the other side of the equal sign
Inverse is doing the opposite of so the inverse of sin is sin^-1

{ \sin}^{ - 1} (\frac{16cm}{28cm})
x = sin^-1 (16cm/28cm)

Answer:

x = 34.84990458°

I don't know how far rounded you'll need it
I hope this helped!

PIT_PIT [208]

Answer:

There are 4 triangles. For the exterior and remote interior, I’m naming the angles with three letters.  If your teacher just wants one, it would be the middle one.  (I assume they’ll want all three, since the letters just name points, not angles.)

1) A) Name of triangle: ABO

B) Exterior AngleS: EAO, BOC and AOD

C) Remote Interior Angles: For EAO, it’s ABO and AOB.  For BOC, it’s BAO and ABO. For AOD, it’s BAO and ABO
