On a scale drawing with a scale of 1/20, the height of the building is 8 inches. How tall is the actual building in feet?

That means its downgraded to 1/20 of actual height, let actual height is x. Then
(1/20) * x = 8, x = 20 * 8 = 160, actual height = 160 inch
160 inch = 160/12 feet = 13 1/3 feet or 13.333 feet.

Use distance formula d=√(X2 – X1 )2 + (X2 – X1 )2, calculate the distance r from the origin to the point r (-2, √5).
lesya692 [45]
d = \sqrt{(x_{2} - x_{1})^{2} + (y_{2} - y_{1})^{2}} \\d = \sqrt{(\sqrt{5} - (-2))^{2} + (\sqrt{5} - (-2))^{2}} \\d = \sqrt{(\sqrt{5} + 2)^{2} + (\sqrt{5} + 2)^{2}} \\d = \sqrt{(4 + 4\sqrt{5} + 5) + (4v + 4\sqrt{5} + 5)} \\d = \sqrt{0 + 0} \\d = \sqrt{0} \\d = 0

66,681 rounded to the nearest ten thousand??
grandymaker [24]

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

This number is sixty six thousand six hundred eighty one. This means that our ten thousandths place is the first 6.

We look to the right place to see if it is 5 or bigger. It is also six.

Therefore we bump the ten thousands place up 1 to 7 and we make everything else 0, giving us 70,000.

Have a wonderful day! :D

Snezhnost [94]
<h2>Answer</h2>

f(x) = 5(1.25)x + 4

<h2>Explanation</h2>

To solve this, we are going to use the standard exponential equation:

f(x)=a(1+b)^x

where

a is the initial amount

b is the growth rate in decimal form

x is the time (in months for our case)

Since the hours of classic music remain constant, we just need to add them at the end. We know form our problem that Sue initially has 5 hours of pop, so a=5; we also know that every month onward, the hours of pop music in her collection is 25% more than what she had the previous month, so b=\frac{25}{100} =0.25. Now let's replace the values in our function:

f(x)=a(1+b)^x

f(x)=5(1+0.25)^x

f(x)=5(1.25)^x

Now we can add the hours of classical music to complete our function:

f(x)=5(1.25)^x+5
