She can make 4 parfaits.

To find the answer, you need to...
1. Find a common denominator for both fractions which is 8
2. converts 1/2 to x/8 by multiplying the top and bottom by 4 ( 2 × 4 = 8 and 1 × 4 = 4)
3. x = 4 so she can make 4 parfaits

Hope this helps!

Alison has 1/2 cups of yogurt and each parfait has 1/8 cups of yogurt. We want to know how many parfaits she can make.

If x is the amount of parfaits she can make,

1/2 = 1/8x

The 1/8 cups of yogurt in the x amount of parfaits has to add up to 1/2 cups because this is all the yogurt she has.

So divide both sides of the equation by 1/8 to isolate x, what we want to know

4 = x

Alison can make 4 parfaits with 1/8 cups of yogurts each using her 1/2 cup of yogurt.

Answer:

m∠y=72°

Step-by-step explanation:

The question is

Find the measure of angle y

step 1

Find the measure of angle x

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

we know that

m∠x=67° -----> by corresponding angles

step 2

Find the measure of angle y

we know that

(m∠x+m∠y)+42°=180° -----> because form a straight line

substitute the measure of angle x

67°+m∠y+42°=180

m∠y+108°=180

m∠y=180°-108°

m∠y=72°

Answer:

+) m∠1 = m∠2 (vertical angles theorem)

+) m∠2 and ∠3 are supplementary (because a//b)

+)m∠3 = m∠4 (alternate interior angles theorem, c//d)

=> ∠1 and ∠4 are supplementary (substitution property of equality)

sergeinik [125]
Consider this:

If a test gives a positive result for an infected person 98% of the time, that means that 2% of the time, it gives a negative result for an infected person, which would be a false negative.

Then,

if the test is 97& accurate (not precise) for non-infected people, that means that it gives a negative result 97& of the time. So a positive result will be given 3% of the time for non-infected people, which is considered a false positive.
