Hello from MrBillDoesMath!

Answer:

x = -11, y = 6

Discussion:

I don't understand the answer shown -- "Doesn't Exist" -- especially as part of the problem statement is not displayed,  BUT

-6x + 3y = 84     =>    divide both sides by 3

-2x + y = 84/3= 28

-2x + y = 28          (A)

Multiply X = -23 + 2Y by 2 to get

2x = - 46 + 4y      (B)

Adding (A) and (B) gives

(-2x + y ) + (2x) =  28 + (-46 + 4y) =>

y = 28 -46 + 4y =>                                      as -2x + 2x = 0

y = -18 + 4y =>

18 = 3y =>

y = 6

From (A)    -2x + (6) = 28 or -2x = 28 -6 = 22 so x = -11

Thank you,

A parachutist jumped from an airplane at an elevation of 11,880 feet above the ground.
bogdanovich [222]

Answer:

25.9 feet per second.

Step-by-step explanation:

For the first 14 seconds, the change in elevation was –65×14= –910 feet.

For the remaining 6.5 minutes, the change in elevation was –1,470×6.5 = –9,555 feet.

The overall change in elevation was –910+ –9,555= –10,465 feet.

The total number of seconds was

6.5×60=14+390=404 seconds. The Average change in elevation was −10,465÷404=25.9 feet per second.

90 students take a test.
Anika [276]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If there are 90 students and the ratio of boys to girls is 3:2, that means 3x+2x=90

Combine like terms: 5x=90

x=18

2x (girls)=36

3x (boys)=54

1/3 of the boys scored full marks, so 54/3=18 boys scored full marks

The number of girls who scored full marks is half of the number who did not score full marks means that 1/3 of the girls scored full marks. 36/3=12, so 12 girls scored full marks.

(I don't know what the question is sorry if it's incorrect but there's not enough information)

Hope this helps!

Evaluate. 4.3 + 2.75 A. 2.78 B. 3.18 C. 7.05 D. 7.5
miv72 [106K]
1. Set up the long addition.
4.30 + 2.75
2. Calculate 0 + 5, which is 5.
4.30 + 2.75 = 5
3. Calculate 3 + 7, which is 10.
since 10 is two-digit, we carry the first digit 1 to the next column
1
4.30 + 2.75 = 05
1
4.30 + 2.75 = 7.05
5. Therefore, 4.3 + 2.75 = 7.05.
