Because "20+30" is inside parentheses, you must combine 20 and 30 FIRST.  Next, divide your result by 10.  That's your answer.
Here we are following "order of operations" rules (sometimes referred to as "PEMDAS."  Know these rules?  if not, please learn them.

Input m = -4 n = 2 and p = 1.5 into the expression above

7m + 2n - 8p/n
= 7(-4) + 2(2) - 8(1.5)/2
= -28 + 4  - 6
= -30

An orange grower find that she gets an average yield of 40 bushels per tree when she plants 20 trees on an acre of ground. Each
sdas [7]

Answer:

30 trees/acre

Step-by-step explanation:

Let n = the number of trees added to 1 acre

Let Y(n) = the yield in bushels/acre

Yield in bushels/acre = [bushels/tree] x [trees/acre]

Y(n) = (40-n)*(20+n)

       = 800 - 20n + 40n - n^2

       = n^2 + 20n + 800 ---------------------(1)

The n-value of the vertex ( which is a peak )  is given by the formula:

n(max) = -b/2a

Putting values from equation (1) gives us

n(max) = 10

The grower started with 20 tree/acre and adds 10  more for max yield, so she should plant:  30 trees/acre

and

Maximum yield is 900 bushels/acre.

A quadrilateral has no pairs of parallel sides. What shape could it be? ( im not accepting rhombus or trapezium as an answer ).
natali 33 [55]

Answer: The answer is a parallelogram! I hope this helps you!!

Step-by-step explanation: If only one pair of opposite sides is required to be parallel, the shape is a trapezoid. A trapezoid, in which the non-parallel sides are equal in length, is called isosceles.

Ulleksa [173]

When you multiply two powers of the same base, you sum the exponents:

a^b\cdot a^c = a^{b+c}

So, in this case,

4^4\cdot 4^{-9} = 4^{4-9} = 4^{-5}

Now, negative exponents works like positive exponents, except you have to invert the number: i.e.

a^{-b} = \dfrac{1}{a^b}

So, you have

4^{-5} = \dfrac{1}{4^5}

a computer expert can do a job on the computer in 6 hours. His secretary can do the same job in 7 hours. After the expert works
konstantin123 [22]

Answer:

4 + 2/3 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

For the expert,

6 hours = 1 job

For the secretary,

7 hours = 1 job

We want to figure out how much the expert gets done in 2 hours.

2 hours = x jobs for the expert.

To turn 6 hours = 1 job into this, we can multiply both sides of the equation by 2 (the number we want to get to) / 6 (the number we are at) to get

6 hours * 2/6 = 1 job * 2/6

2 hours = 2/6 jobs

Therefore, the expert does 2/6 of the job, and 1-2/6 = 4/6 of the job is left for the secretary. We want to figure out how long it takes for her to complete the job

We know

7 hours = 1 job

and want to figure out

y hours = 4/6 jobs

We can multiply both sides of the original equation by (4/7) (the number we want to get to) / 1 (the number we are at) to get

7 hours * 4/6 = 1 job * 4/6

28 /6 hours = 4/6 jobs

= 4 + 4/6 hours

= 4 + 2/3 hours
