The correct answer is A) Government are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

Popular sovereignty is the idea that people get the chance to vote on what happens in their government. This is why letter A is correct, as it is the only answer choice that deals with the rights of citizens getting to vote/choose their government and how it runs.

How do we measure and encourage development around the world?
defon

The development around the world is measured by using several different methods. Mostly these methods include the GDP, GDP per capita, industrialization, freedom of speech, level of corruption, type of economy, availability of institutions to the people, healthcare, availability of resources etc. All of these things combined are able to provide us with a fairly accurate picture on the level of development of a particular country. Some countries are well developed, some are transitioning, while some are with very low level of development. The countries that are well developed often put effort to help the countries that are not developed, and they do this by providing finances for capital projects, making trading deals with them, sending experts in certain fields to help with the development and education.

Andrews [41]

Answer: D is correct.

Explanation: At the time the Netherlands was a Spanish territory (Charles V inherited this territory from his ancestors, dukes of Burgundy) which brought quite a lot of money to Spain because Netherlands was the most  prosperous part of Spanish empire. The problem was the protestantism of Dutch, their unwillingness to get converted to Catholicism and obey Spanish Catholic mores and rules. The result of that ? Many rebellions of Dutch, disrespect toward Spanish power. Many Dutch found aid and support in England (in this respect English Chanel was crucial) and over the time there was sort of unwritten alliance between the Dutch and the English. And that was something Spaish crown wanted to stop. At the time Spain (house of Habsburg) was considered the most powerful of European countries.
