Yes, it is still their child and they deserve to be with them and enjoy all their moments together but a women's body has just gone through a lot and deserves its proper rest, while her spouse just had to watch. Another reason is because women can produce milk to feed the baby, where men cannot therefore the men should just get a little time off, but not the same amount as the women.
