Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body does not properly make use of the insulin it produces. The cause of type 2 diabetes is directly related to overweight, physical inactivity, elevated triglycerides, hypertension and inappropriate eating habits. It is common for this type of disease to occur in people like Steve, who eats a lot of junk food and does not exercise at all.
