Answer:

Part A) D=70T

Part B) D=105\ miles

Step-by-step explanation:

Par A) Write an equation that relates the distance D this car travels in T hours

we know that

A relationship between two variables, x, and y, represent a proportional variation if it can be expressed in the form y/x=k or y=kx

The speed is a proportional relationship between the distance and the time

Let

D ----> the distance in miles

T ----> the time in hours

so

D=kT

In this problem the constant of proportionality k represent the speed of the car in miles per hour

we have

k=70\ mi/h

substitute

D=70T

Part B) Use the equation to find the distance the car travels between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m

we know that

The time between 3:30 p.m. and 5:00 p.m is equal to

5:00 p.m-3:30 p.m=1.5 hours

so

For T=1.5 h

substitute in the equation and solve for D

D=70(1.5)

D=105\ miles

What is the opposite <br> of -5/3
ss7ja [257]

Answer:

5/3

Step-by-step explanation:

The opposite of a number always has to have the same distance from zero, positive or negative. So in this case, since -5/3 is a negative fraction, the answer would be 5/3. This fraction may be positive but they have the same distance from zero.

Answer:

x *2 + (28-x)*4 = 100

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Total number of questions in the paper = 28

Out of these 28 questions let us say that x number of questions are of 2 points and 28-x questions are of 4 points.

Also, the complete test is of 100 marks

Thus, the linear equation representing the

Find the commission based on total sales of $98,000 and a commission rate of 1.5%.
Nookie1986 [14]

Answer:

$1470

Step-by-step explanation:

98,000 \rightarrow 100%

x           \rightarrow 1.5%

98,000(1.5)=x(100)\\\\x=\frac{98000(1.5)}{100}\\\\x=980*1.5\\\\x=1470
