Jen read 4/5 of a book.....leaving 1/5 left to read
she then read 2/3 of what she had left.....2/3 of 1/5 =..." of " means multiply
2/3 * 1/5 = 2/15

5/5 - (4/5 + 2/15) =
5/5 - (12/15 + 2/15) =
5/5 - 14/15 =
15/15 - 14/15 =
1/15 <=== 1/15 of the book is left to read

After Jen read 4/5 (12/15) of a book there was 1/5 left.
The next day she reads 2/3 of 1/5 which equals 2/15 of the book
So by 2 days 14/15 of the book is read and there is 1/15 left.

Answer:

0.0139

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that in a test for extrasensory perception, the experimenter looks at cards containing either a star, circle, wave, or square. (The subject cannot see the cards.)

Probability for guessing a correct shape out of 4 shapes = 0.25

Each trial is independent of the other

Hence X no of correct guesses is binomial with n = number of cards = 20 and p = constant probability =0.25

the probability a subject correctly guesses at least 10 of the 20 shapes

=P(X\geq 10)\\= 1-F(9), where F represents the cumulative probability upto 9

= 0.0139

To the nearest degree, what is m_A? Explain
noname [10]

Answer:

A= 53

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

BC = 9,6

AC = 7.2

Required: Angle A

This is calculated using:

tan\ A = \frac{Opposite}{Hypotenuse}

From the attachment;

Opposite = 9.6

Adjacent = 7.2

So:

tan A =\frac{9.6}{7.2}

tan A =1.333

Take arctan of both sides

A= tan^{-1}(1.333

A= 53----- approximated
