(I am aware I am VERY late but some people may be looking up this same question.)

Please DO NOT pick D!! It is not the correct answer. The correct choice is C, "Rainsford's sense of honor is so strong that he refuses a deal that would help him."

I just took the test myself, and I thought the answer was D as well, but the true, correct choice was C. I even have proof.
