I think the most important accomplishment of the Progressive Era is that the change of the government. Progressives tried to eliminate corruption by exposing political machines and bosses. They wanted to destroy the political powers based in saloons. There were pushing for improvement and innovating solutions in the scientific, medical and engineering fields.
