Answer:

The correct answer is B) A third phosphate group.

Explanation:

ATP is Adenosine Triphosphate and ADP is Adenosine Diphosphate.

ADP gets converted into ATP in presence of inorganic phosphate and energy, irrespective of whether the energy is obtained from sunlight or from certain exothermic reactions. ATP is converted into ADP, releasing energy and inorganic phosphate.

Cheers!

Electricity is added to recharge a battery. A third phosphate group is added to ADP to form ATP.

ATP or Adenosine triphosphate contains adenine, ribose and 3 phosphate groups.

ADP is converted to ATP by the following reaction:

ADP+Pi+energy⇄ATP

The analogy between battery and ATP can be explained as ATP is higher energy form and ADP is lower energy form like charged and uncharged form of the battery. When the terminal or third phosphate is removed from the ATP it becomes ADP and releases energy like a battery. The additional phosphate group when added to ADP forms the ATP molecule like the energy spent by the batteries are recharged by putting in additional energy. Here the additional energy is provided by the third phosphate group.

A living cell is placed into a hypotonic solution . Compare the solute and solvent concentration inside the cell with the concen
frosja888 [35]

Answer:

The living cell concentration is hypertonic than outer solution hence the concentration of solutes will be higher than the solvent.

Explanation:

 • In the question description it is mentioned that cell is present in the hypotonic solution than cell environment will be hypertonic.
 • In the cell the solute will present in the concentrated form.
 • Hence the water will move from the outer environment into sell through the osmosis.
 • Osmosis is the movement of water from higher concentration to low concentration through semi permeable membrane.
 • Hence the cell will swell due to water collection in cell.

Nina [5.8K]

B): Energy is radiated more than absorbed near the poles

D): Energy is absorbed more than radiated near the equator.

E): Energy is carried from the equator to poles in surface currents.

Explanation:

Thermal energy is a form of energy carried by heat as a result of temperature differences between two places or bodies.

At the equator the sun is overhead and directly bursting energy from space. Areas around the equator have very low albedo because the bulk of radiation is absorbed. The surfaces here are like black bodies.

At the poles, the ice caps and bodies causes the reflection of the bulk of these radiations. Such regions have a very high albedo. Most of the energy here is radiated.

 • Warm water in the equator due to absorbed energy are rises to the surface and are carried away to the pole.
 • Colder water moved from the pole towards the equator by deep ocean currents.
