You are cleaning your room, when all of a sudden the smoke alarm goes off. You go into the kitchen and it is very smoky, so you

Answer: The smoke goes to the cells of the mouth or buccal cavity, nasal cavity, trachea, larynx, and then finally distributed into the bronchi (small tubes) in the lungs.

Explanation:

Respiratory system can be defined as the complex system of organs that allow us to obtain oxygen for biochemical oxidation of food and releasing energy in the form of ATP. The breathing is a process in which the air is inhaled inside the respiratory system and oxygen is absorbed by the cells and carbon dioxide is expelled out of the body. The pathway of oxygen is cells of the mouth or buccal cavity, nasal cavity, trachea, larynx, and then finally, distributed into the bronchi (small tubes) in the lungs and it is reverse for carbon dioxide or carbon monoxide gas components present in the smoke. The red blood cells are the cells that are involved in getting rid of smoke out of the body, as they have hemoglobin which has binding efficiency with both oxygen and carbon dioxide. The exchange of deoxygenated blood (carbon dioxide containing blood) takes place in the blood capillaries. From the blood capillaries the carbon dioxide is expelled out from the bronchi following the entire route of expiration.

Colchicine is a toxin that binds to tubulin proteins and prevents microtubules from elongating. What effect might this have on d
lianna [129]

The effect Colchicine might have on dividing cells is that the duplicated chromosomes might not be able to segregate into daughter nuclei.

Colchicine is an alkaloid that attaches to tubulin and prevents it from polymerization to microtubules. As we know that Microtubules are a component of the cytoskeleton of a cell that aids in molecular mobility inside the cell.

During cell division, chromatin condenses into chromosomes, which are then connected to microtubules. The chromosomes are separated into daughter cells by microtubules.

When these cells are treated with colchicine, tubulin polymerization to microtubules may not occur, and the chromosomes containing daughter nucleic might not be separated.

The biomolecule that would be the preferred dietary intake molecule the day before a long distance runner is scheduled to compete in an event is Carbohydrates. The answer is option B. Carbohydrates are considered as the base diet among athletes because it can give almost half of the energy needed especially in high intensity activities or sports. It is considered as a good fuel for athletes that can be easily replenished.

egoroff_w [7]
The correct answer among the choices provided is option A. Lung capillaries are responsible for exchanging carbon dioxide for oxygen from the air. Blood that comes from the heart gets oxygen from the alveoli. The carbon dioxide in the blood goes into the alveoli at the same time.
