La pared de la célula vegetal, es un recurso evolutivo para adaptarse y sobrevivir al medio, la célula animal no requiere la presencia de pared por eso sus características son diferentes debido a sus necesidades, no creo que la desarrolle, puesto que tener pared no la va a hacer avanzar o evolucionar para perfeccionar la especie, actualmente la célula animal contiene una membrana que le permite realizar proceso con mayor facilidad, como la consecución de nutrientes, procesos de excreción, reproducción y movilidad, dentro de un organismo como el hombre sería inviable este mecanismo, sin embargo hay especies que se han adaptado y tienen paredes en su superficie como el caso de las algas y las bacterias, teniendo en cuenta estos seres como ejemplo se sabe que una de las ventajas de tener pared es la resistencia a lesiones como las provocadas por antibióticos, soportan fuerzas osmoticas e intervienen en el crecimiento, convirtiéndose en una armadura para el resto del organismo, de este modo sería como beneficiaría a la célula animal.
