Answer:

Specific immunity is adaptive immunity or acquired immunity.

Explanation:

Immunity is the overall ability of the body to fight infections or disease causing organisms. Immunity is of two types:

Innate immunity: it is the inborn immunity. Different types of barriers prevent the entry of pathogens into our body. These barriers are:

Physical barrier : like skin

Physiological barrier : like saliva in mouth, tears in eyes

Cellular barrier: like Includes natural killer cells, monocytes, neutrophils.

Cytokine barrier: includes interferons

Acquired immunity: it is also called adaptive or specific immunity as it is gained after birth and is pathogen specific. When our body encounters the pathogen for the first time, primary immune response is initiated. Effector B and T cells are produced which fight the infection and memory B and T cells are produced which are stored in spleen and lymph nodes. If the body encounters the same pathogen next time, the memory cells immediately produce response to kill the pathogen. This is called secondary immune response and is much faster than the primary response.

Why is the digestive system considered a part of science?
choli [55]

Answer:

The digestive system helps break down complex meals into the constituent parts the body can use: carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins and minerals.

Digestion is important for breaking down food into nutrients, which the body uses for energy, growth, and cell repair. Food and drink must be changed into smaller molecules of nutrients before the blood absorbs them and carries them to cells throughout the body.
