what were the circumstances that made constitutional monarchy possible in england and absolute monarchy more likely in russia?
Talja [164]

Answer:

In the Kingdom of England, the Glorious Revolution of 1688 led to a constitutional monarchy restricted by laws such as the Bill of Rights 1689 and the Act of Settlement 1701, although limits on the power of the monarch ("a limited monarchy") are much older than that (see Magna Carta).

Which statement is true about Mao Zedong at the time of the Cultural Revolution?
Alborosie

Answer:

Mao Zedong was a radical leader who supported communist ideology.

Explanation:

Mao Zedong was the top leader of the Communist Party of China and founder of the People's Republic of China. Under his leadership, the Communist Party seized power in mainland China in 1949, when the new People's Republic was proclaimed, following the victory in the Chinese Revolution against the forces of the Republic of China. The communist victory caused the flight of Chiang Kai-shek and his followers of the Kuomintang to Taiwan and made Mao the maximum leader of China until his death in 1976.

On the ideological level, Mao assumed the approaches of Marxism-Leninism but with its own nuances based on the characteristics of Chinese society, very different from the European one. In particular, Mao's communism gives a central role to the peasant class as the engine of the revolution, an approach that differs from the traditional Marxist-Leninist vision of the Soviet Union, which saw the peasants as a class with little capacity for mobilization and awarded urban workers the central role in the class struggle.

Mao's government was characterized by intense campaigns of ideological reaffirmation, which would cause great social and political upheavals in China, such as the Great Leap Forward and especially the Cultural Revolution.

In order to make your way in the world, it is probably a good idea to
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

- Know what you believe and why.

- to stay true to who you are as you are now because people cannot take advantage of you.

Explanation:

As per the question, the ideas like '<u>knowing your beliefs and the reasons behind it' and 'being truthful to one's own self so that the people cannot take advantage of you' will allow one to make space in this world</u>.

An individual's belief is directly associated with his/her mind and determines the way for his/her actions. Therefore, <u>one must be aware of his/her belief system in order to establish his/her worth and stand in society along with the determination of the level of competence and strength</u>. While 'being truthful to your own self' would assist in knowing your actual values and natural desires that would promote making the right choices in life because if you don't follow someone else's standards they cannot take benefit of you.

why do you think so few african americans had achieved literacy success before the harlem renaissance
jolli1 [7]

Most of Afro American were slaves until the end of civil war. After that they were struggling to have civil participation. The Civil Rights Act in 1821 encouraged many Afro American crongressman to talk about it. However, In the south  the white Democrats terrorized black Americans with lynch mobs and instituted a convict system in which many Afro-Americans were forced to work free in mines, plantations, public work projects. Few Afro American had their own land. They were exploited as sharecroppers.

The renaissence came after a great migration from the south into the African American neighborhoods of the Northeast and Midwest.
