Why must reverse transcriptase be used to create a eukaryotic expression library?

Biology

Answer:

Option (d).

Explanation:

Genomic library may be defined as the total genome DNA of the organism. Reverse transcriptase is the enzyme used for the formation of DNA from the RNA molecule.

The eukaryotes DNA contain large number of sequences called introns that creates a problem in the construction of the eukaryote genomic library. This problem can be solved by creating the complementary DNA from the RNA molecule free from the introns.

Thus, the correct answer is option (d).

kiruha [24]

Answer:

3 (Cells carry out the respiration process)

Explanation:

Cellular respiration is a metabolic (catabolic) process common to all living things as all living things need energy for their life processes.

Respiration is the biochemical process in which the cells of an organism obtain energy by breaking down organic molecules in presence or absence of oxygen (aerobic or anaerobic) resulting in the release of Carbondioxide (CO2), water and Adenosine triphosphate (ATP).

Food molecules (containing stored energy in their chemical bonds) absorbed after digestion are broken down and the energy within their molecules are freed. This freed energy in form of ATP, is used to power the organism's movement and physiological functions.

Note that, ATP is an energy carrying molecule and a usable form of energy by cells. This is so because ATP releases energy quickly. Energy is released from ATP when the end phosphate (Pi) is removed to become ADP (adenosine diphosphate), which is a low energy molecule.

Aerobic cellular respiration consists of Glycolysis, Kreb's cycle and Oxidative phosphorylation. A total of 38 ATP molecules is produced in the cytosol of prokaryotes while a total of 36 ATP molecules is produced in the mitochondria of eukaryotic cells.

Economic benefits of forest
omeli [17]

Forests play an important role in the economic development of a country. They provide several goods which serve as raw materials for many industries. Wood grown in forests serves as a source of energy for rural households.

Most of the world’s paper is made from wood and one rather reliable index to the degree of economic development of a country is its per capita consumption of paper. As an economy develops economically, paper is used as packaging material, in communications and in scores of other uses. No really satisfactory substitute for paper exists for many of its uses.

While it has long been recognized that forests play many roles in the economic development of a country in addition to providing wood fiber for many uses, the non-wood outputs of forests are coming increasingly to be recognized and valued everywhere in the world. Forests have watershed values especially in areas with fragile and easily eroded soils; tree cover may be highly valuable simply as protection to the watershed.

Forests are valued as a place for outdoor recreation. The kinds of forests most valuable for outdoor recreation are not always the same as the kinds most valuable for wood production and vice versa. The dense forest with trees closely spaced to take full advantage of the sunlight, moisture and fertility to grow wood, is often less attractive to the recreationist than a more open forest.

Forests are the home for many species of wildlife including mammals, reptiles and birds. Some of these forms of wildlife are clearly valuable to man. Ecologists have been much disturbed at the reduction in wildlife numbers, sometimes to the point of extinction, as tropical forests are cleared.

How would the human population be different if crossing over did not happen durin meiosis
masha68 [24]

Answer:

The great genetic and phenotypic diversity among humans is due to crossing over during meiosis in the human population.

If crossing over does not happen in meiosis then, there will no genetic and phenotypic diversity in humans.

In simple words, the faces and traits will reappear in generations.
