Answer:

B. Because women and children are given priority when evacuating a sinking ship, sometimes families are split apart during the crisis.

Explanation:

In sentence A), the plural of mouse is wrong. It should be mice.

In sentence B), the sentence is correct grammatically. The plural of woman is women and families (family) is also the right plural noun.

In sentence C), the plural of library is wrong. It should be "libraries".

In sentence D), the plural of deer is deer, not deers. The singular and plural are the same.

Ann [662]

Love in the May countryside will be like a return to the Garden of Eden. There is a tradition that our problems are caused by having too many restrictions, by society. If we could get away from these rules, we could return to a prisitine condition of happiness. The "free love" movement of the 1960's was a recent manifestation of this utopian belief. If the nymph would go a-maying with the shepherd, they would have a perfect life.

Raleigh argues that it is not society that taints sexual love. We are already tainted before we enter society. Releigh combines carpe diem with tempus fugit in an unusual way. Normally we should sieze the day because time flies. Raleigh argues that because time flies, we should NOT sieze the day.

Find the error with subject-verb agreement. Select the incorrect verb and type it correctly. Jenny's favorite hiking trail wind
Lubov Fominskaja [6]

Answer:

The error in subject-verb agreement is underlined below:

Jenny's favorite hiking trail wind from the base of Mt. Diablo up to the summit which offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area.

Explanation:

Although the sentence above has quite a long subject - "Jenny's favorite hiking trail" - we can easily pinpoint which word is the most important in it: "trail". All the while, the sentence is talking about a trail. Therefore, the verb that follows the subject needs to agree with "trail", which is a third-person singular word.

That is precisely where we have an error. The verb "wind" is not in its singular form. In the present tense, the singular form of verbs ends in -s, -es, or -ies for the third person. In the case of "wind", it should be "winds". Therefore, the correct agreement would be:

- Jenny's favorite hiking trail winds from the base . . .

The rest of the sentence is alright.
