How did johnny feel about dally in chapter 5 (the outsiders)
Olin [163]
When they were reading Gone with the Wind, Johnny points out that the characters in the novel remind him of Dally. Johnny feels that Dally is so real. He thinks that Dally is just like his big brother because Dally was always there for johnny. Dally always kept him away from troubles because he cares for Johnny. In Dally's world, Johnny is the only person that he cares for. He doesn't want Johnny to be cold-hearted and mean like himself. So Johnny feels that Dally is just like his big brother.

Who is riding in the carriage with the speaker in Emily Dickinson’s poem “712” (“because I could not step for death”)
Amanda [17]

Death

In the poem the speaker says, "The Carriage held but just Ourselves – " At the very beginning of the poem the speaker personifies Death. When she says, "Because I could not stop for Death - He kindly stopped for me". This idea that Death stops for the speaker, personifies Death and makes him a character in the poem. This means that "Ourselves" refers to the speaker and Death.

Some people have argued that since Death is personified, so is Immortality and therefore Immortality is also riding in the Carriage with the speaker and Death. However, this is not a widely accepted interpretation.
