Answer: This represents a function

Step-by-step explanation: In this problem, we are given a relation in the form of a mapping diagram and we are asked if it represents a function. The easiest way to do this problem is first translate the mapping diagram into a list of ordered pairs.

Notice that the 1 is connected with the 40, the 2 is connected with the 80, the 3 is connected with the 120, the 4 is connected with the 160, and the 5 is connected to the 200. We can also represent this as followed.

{(1,40), (2,80), (3,120), (4,160), (5,200)}

Now to determine if the relation is a function, we can simply look at the x-coordinates of each ordered pair. Notice that all the coordinates we have are different so this means that this relation must be a function.

Therefore, the relation shown here is a function.

What is the solution to the equation 3/m+3-m/3-m=m^2+9/m^2-9
Bas_tet [7]

Answer:

  no solution

Step-by-step explanation:

If we subtract the left side of the equation, we get ...

  \dfrac{m^2+9}{m^2-9}-\dfrac{3}{m+3}+\dfrac{3}{3-m}=0\\\\\dfrac{m^2+9-3(m-3)-3(m+3)}{(m-3)(m+3)}=0\\\\\dfrac{m^2-6m+9}{(m-3)(m+3)}=0=\dfrac{(m-3)^2}{(m-3)(m+3)}\\\\\dfrac{m-3}{m+3}=0\quad\text{m$\ne$3}

This equation will equal zero only if m=3, which is disallowed because it makes the denominator zero. Thus, there is no solution.

PLEASE HELP, REWARD OF 100 POINTS! thanks :3
meriva

Answer:

The total saving of Alex (a) and Benjamin (b) was 2000$.

=> a + b = 2000 (1)

Alex donates 1/4 of saving, Benjamin donates 1/5 of saving.

Total donation: 440$

=> (1/4)a + (1/5)b = 440 (2)

From (1) and  (2):

=>(1/4)(2000 - b) +(1/5)b = 440

=> 500 - (1/4)b + (1/5)b = 440

=> (1/20)b = 60

=> b = 20 x 60 = 1200$ (current balance of Benjamin)

=> a = 2000 - b = 800$ (current balance of Alex)

Hope this helps!

Pls help me ASAP!!! Tickets for a concert cost $7.50 for students and $15 for adults. 150 ticket are sold, and $1612.50 is colle
mariarad [96]
Answer: 85 student tickets, 65 adult tickets.
Let's say the # of students is x and the # of adults is y. The two equations we get are 7.50x + 15y = 1612.50 and x + y = 150
x = 150 - y
7.5(150-y) + 15y = 1612.5
1125-7.5y+15y=1612.5
7.5y=487.5
y=65

x=150-65
x=85

Hope this helps!
