Laissez-faire is a French term meaning “<em>allow to do</em>”. A policy or attitude of letting things take their own course. It´s also represent the basic principle of economic liberalism. It´s a rejection to state intervention in the economy. Liberalism values the individual and his/her/their potentiality, his/her/their capacity to undertake and transform the economic scenario in which he/she/they live. In a political party´s platform that believes in laissez-faire application encourage "free" enterprise," "free" competition -- which came to mean, free for the capitalists to make huge profits as they wished.
