Answer:

Claim: A tissue is made up of many similar cells that are connected and organised.

Evidence: In cardiac muscle tissue, group of cardiomyocytes are joined in the same direction.

Claim: Cells in a tissue work together to allow the tissue to carry out its function.

Evidence: In cardiac muscle tissue, group of cardiomyocytes expand and contract at the same time.

Explanation:

Cells are the building blocks of life, and a group of specialized cells form a tissue, which has a specific function.

In human heart, the cardiac muscle tissue is a specialized type of striated muscle tissue formed from cardiomyocytes. Their fibers are branched, have a single nucleus and are joined together by intercalated discs. This tissue contracts and releases involuntarily and helps the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Cardiac muscle cells (cardiomyocytes) are the muscle cells which form the cardiac muscle tissue. They are responsible for the rhythmic beating of the heart by expanding and contracting at the same time.

What ions, ATP, and neurotransmitters are used in muscle contraction and where are they used??
vivado [14]

Answer:

Hiya there!

Explanation:

ATP then binds to myosin, moving the myosin to its high-energy state, releasing the myosin head from the actin active site. ATP can then attach to myosin, which allows the cross-bridge cycle to start again; further muscle contraction can occur.

acetylcholine : Skeletal muscle contraction and changes with exercise. (A) Neurotransmitter (acetylcholine, ACh) released from nerve endings binds to receptors (AChRs) on the muscle surface.

The muscle contraction cycle is triggered by calcium ions binding to the protein complex troponin, exposing the active-binding sites on the actin. As soon as the actin-binding sites are uncovered, the high-energy myosin head bridges the gap, forming a cross-bridge.

Describe the flow of blood from the umbilical vein to the descending aorta in the developing fetus.
n200080 [17]

Oxygen and nutrients from the mother's blood are transferred across the placenta to the fetus through the umbilical cord. This enriched blood flows through the umbilical vein toward the baby's liver. There it moves through a shunt called the ductus venosus. This allows some of the blood to go to the liver.

A small amount of the blood continues on to the lungs. Most of this blood is shunted through the ductus arteriosus to the descending aorta. This blood then enters the umbilical arteries and flows into the placenta. The oxygen rich blood then returns to the fetus via the third vessel in the umbilical cord (umbilical vein). The oxygen rich blood that enters the fetus passes through the fetal liver and enters the right side of the heart.
