Carbohydrates are generally considered the fuel for all organisms, and without this most animals would become sloth and would be unable to perform the regular jobs. Natural skin color can change due to exposure to sunlight (becomes darker) and that is the way it adapts to intense sunlight irradiation (protection against the UV exposure).
