The industries suffered from a very competitive free market that weakened them by competing with countries that had cheaper production costs and that had a better development due to their history and mark in the global market. Thus, by being adopted by the Britain government they received a good source of money to make them competitive and attended. That if not being performed would have left the industries under uncompetitive means.
