What caused increasing numbers of people to join the populist party in the late 1900's?
raketka [301]
The Farmers' Alliances agitated for railroad regulation, tax reform, and unlimited coinage of silver and attempted to influence the established political parties. Growth was so rapid, however, that interest in a third party began to increase; in 1891 delegates from farm and labor organizations met in Cincinnati. No decision was made to form a political party, but when the Republican and Democratic parties both straddled the currency question at the 1892 presidential conventions, a convention was held at Omaha, and the Populist party was formed (1892).

No branch is stronger than the other. This is because of the two types of checks and balances that are established. If one governmental branch became too strong, the other branches would be able to neutralize such through its given powers. Describe the response of the political power structure of the deep south to the brown v. board of education and brown ii rulings
vazorg [7]
The Brown vs. Board ruling stated "separate but equal" schools were inherently unequal. In Brown II, the court ruled that states must do this with "all deliberate speed."

Even though this was the case, many southern politicians tried to stop desegregation. A perfect example would be the Little Rock 9. This group of nine African-American citizens tried to enter Central High School, a previously all white school. When they were about to enter for their first day, the Arkansas National Guard refused to allow them enter the school. This was one way in which state governments tried to prevent desegregation.

In response to this, President Eisenhower sent in the National Guard to escort the Little Rock 9 into Central High School.
