Two years ago there was a budget cut at Denny's job because the economy was down. Unfortunately, in order to keep his job, his s

alary had to be cut by 3%. Since Denny didn't want to lose his job, he took this deal. However, since the company is doing better now, Denny's boss told him "I'd like to increase your current salary by 3% so that you will be making the same amount that you did before our budget cut". Is the statement that Denny's boss told Denny true?

Answer:

Not true!

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Denny's initial salary be x.

After the cut, his salary would be 0.97x.

When increasing his salary by 3%,

1.03 x 0.97x = 0.9991 x which is not the same as x.

Hence the statement is not true.

The average height of 4 children is (15h-3). Two more children join the group with heights of (10h+46) centimeters and (14h-16)
oksian1 [2.3K]

Answer: 123.5 centimeters

Step-by-step explanation:

Let sum of observations be S and number of observations be n.

Average A=\frac{\text{S}}{\text{n}}

The average height of 4 children is (15h-3)

(15h-3)=\frac{S}{4}\\\Rightarrow\ S=4(15h-3)\\\Rightarrow\ S=60h-45

Also, when two more children join the group with heights of (10h+46) centimeters and (14h-16) centimeters the sum of heights of 6 children will be

S+(10h+46)+(14h-16)=60h-45+10h+46+14h-16=84h-107

Now, Average height of 6 students=\frac{84h-15}{6}

At h=9

Average height of 6 students=\frac{84(9)-15}{6}=\frac{741}{6}=123.5\ centimeters

What is the area of these parallelograms? 1. the perimeter is 33 <br> 2. the perimeter is 64
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

4.5 + 4.5 + 7.5 + 3 + 9 + 4.5 = 33 is the perimeter of the first shape

The area is (4.5 x 7.5) + (3 x 9) = 60.75

(Cut the figure)

Perimeter of the Second Shape is:

22 + 22 + 10 + 10 = 64

Area is: 22 x 10 = 220

Area of a parallelogram is: L x W

I just answered a so let's start with b :

b. The equivalent resistance of series

resistances is equal to their sum

Thus :

equivalent resistance = 480 + 360

equivalent resistance = 840

c.

I = V ÷ R

I = 120 ÷ 840

I = 0.1428 A

d. 0.1428 A
