Invictus was a poem, succinctly written by William Henley, an English Poet, in 1875. This great work was published in 1888.

When William was sixteen years old, he had issues with his leg due to tuberculosis. He had different surgical procedures to get better. When he was recovering, he was moved to write some lines that became the Invictus poem.
