We Know, 1 cup = 0.0625 gallon
So, 1.25 cup = 0.09375

If it's leaking @ 1.25 cups then in gallons it would be 0.09375 gallons/ hour

So, your final answer is 0.09375 gallons / hour

Hope this helps!

Well you need to multiply 1.25 cups by 24 so you would get 30.
you would then divide that by 0.0625 and get an answer of 480.
I hope this helped a bit.

56 coins = $9.80. how many are quarters how many are nickels
nevsk [136]

Answer:

So there are 35 quarters and 21 nickels.

Step-by-step explanation:

So I guess that is all we have is quarters and nickels.

Quarters are worth .25

Nickels are worth .05

Let x represent the number of quarters

Let y represent the number of nickels

x+y=56

.25x+.05y=9.8

We are going to solve this system.

I'm going to use substitution. I will solve the first equation for y and then plug that into the second equation.

y=56-x

.25x+.05(56-x)=9.8

.25x+2.8-.05x=9.8

.20x+2.8=9.8

.2x          = 7

 x=7/(.2) or 7*5=35

y=56-x

y=56-35=21

So there are 35 quarters and 21 nickels.

Inessa ran 3 laps in 8 minutes. How long would it take her to run 10 laps at this pace?
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

26.27 minutes

Step-by-step explanation:

We can us rule of three to solve this problem.

We have that 3 laps are done in 8 minutes, and we want to know how much time it will take to run 10 laps:

laps      minutes

3 ----------->8

10----------->x

To find the value of x we do as follows:

x=\frac{8*10}{3} =26.27 minutes

we cross multiply the values, and divide by the remaining value, thus we have the time it takes to run 10 laps is 26.27 minutes
