Impressionism as a art movement originated in the 19th century in Paris and London as a response to realism. The qualities of the impressionist painting is the use of light, unusual angles and the 'impression' of the event, people or landscape that the artist translates to the picture. Painters such as Dega, Mane, Mone and others wanted to depict the 'universal moment' the 'passing of time' and the beauty of their impressions. They wanted to frieze the moment in time and the human experience. Often motives of these paintings are dusk, dawn, gatherings, streets etc.

E plain the meaning of quote, a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds Emerson, excerpt from self reliance
leva [86]

Answer:

This statement means that it is self-limiting to subject our lives and decisions to patterns that we are already used to.

Explanation:

A hobgoblin is a spirit creature known in folklores as being mischievous. Consistency is depicted to be a negative trait as it is compared to something mischievous.

Ralph Waldo Emerson hereby implies that it is a mischievous or menacing attitude to get ourselves into a pattern because it is what we have always known to be true. This pattern limits us and prevents us from thinking outside the box.

What is an Argument?

An argument is the position a person takes on a matter. In this excerpt, Bingham used pathos to appeal to the people's sense of duty towards their nation. This will help them realize that if they failed to act on the matter, they will be doing something wrong.

This is an effective conclusion because it gives the people a cogent reason to act on the matter being discussed.
