Think of it like this: imagine a frog on some lily pads and if it hops left it gets smaller(negative) and if it hops right it gets bigger(positive) ,(but think of it like numbers) so -14-5 think about the -14 being way down at the left and then you add on the (-5) since the number you are adding is negative it is getting smaller (going farther away from the zero, not closer) so when you add a negative to a negative number you get smaller instead of bigger. Hope that helps

Both circle A and circle B have a central angle measuring 50°. The area of circle A's sector is 36π cm2, and the area of circle
slega [8]

Answer:

A) 3/4

Step-by-step explanation:

Given: Both circle A and circle B have a central angle measuring 50°.

           The area of circle A's sector is 36π cm2.

            The area of circle B's sector is 64π cm2.

We know, area of the circle= \pi r^{2}

lets assume the radius of circle A be "r_1" and radius of circle B be "r_2"

As given, Area of circle A and B´s sector is 36π and 64π repectively.

Now, writing ratio of area of circle A and B, to find the ratio of radius.

⇒\frac{\pi r_1^{2}  }{\pi r_2^{2} }  = \frac{36\pi }{64\pi }

Cancelling out the common factor

⇒ \frac{r_1^{2}  }{r_2^{2} }  = \frac{36 }{64}

⇒ (\frac{r_1  }{r_2} )^{2} = \frac{36 }{64}

Taking square on both side.

Remember; √a²= a

⇒ (\frac{r_1  }{r_2} ) =\sqrt{ \frac{36 }{64}}

⇒ (\frac{r_1  }{r_2} ) = \frac{6}{8}

⇒\frac{r_1  }{r_2}  = \frac{3}{4}

Hence, ratio of the radius of circle A to the radius of circle B is 3:4 or 3/4.

What times what equals -152 and when added equals 12
sergeinik [125]
You can set up an equation to figure this out.

-152+x=12

Add 152 to both sides and you get:

x=164

What is a set of numbers are intergers but not whole numbers or natural numbers?
Rus_ich [418]

If you have negative numbers anywhere in the set, then that set cannot be part of the whole numbers or natural numbers. This is because

set of whole numbers = {0,1,2,3,4,5,...}

set of natural numbers = {1,2,3,4,5,...}

The only difference is that 0 is not included in the set of natural numbers. Neither set has negative values in them.

So for instance the set {-5, 1,2,7} involves a number that is neither part of the whole numbers or natural numbers set. But every item listed is an integer

set of integers = { ..., -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, ... }

We can see that the integers is the set of positive and negative whole numbers, with 0 as well
