Add Eq 3 with Eq 1

I.e (   4 x + 8 y ) + (  3 x - 8 y ) = 7 - 28

Or. ( 4 x + 3 x ) + ( 8 y - 8 y ) = - 21

∴     x =  - $\frac{21}{7}$ = - 3
