A^2 + B^2 = C^2

21^2 + 20^2 =c^2

441 + 400 = c^2

841 = C^2 take the square root to get your answer.

c = 29

If the third side (X) is the hypotenuse then length of X is sqrt(20^2+21^2)
If the hypotenuse is the side 21 cm long then length of the third side = sqrt(21^2-20^2) . I hopr this helped!!

I need some help with 2 step equations. Like this one 2(x+3) + 4 =4x + 6
Vladimir [108]

Answer: ok well if you know that 2(x+3) + 4 = 4x + 6

ok well you know that 4+3+2= 9, and 4+ 6= 10 then that means that x must be 1 so they equal.

Step-by-step explanation:

Umm I kind of explained it already but hope this helps!

If j is 21 inches, k is 12 inches, and ∠M measures 62°, then find m using the Law of Cosines. Round your answer to the nearest t
Naily [24]

Answer:

m=18.7\ in

Step-by-step explanation:

see the attached figure to better understand the problem

Applying the law of cosines

m^2=j^2+k^2-2(j)(k)cos(M)

substitute the given values

m^2=21^2+12^2-2(21)(12)cos(62^o)

m^2=348.39\\m=18.7\ in

Given a polynomial function f(x), describe the effects on the y-intercept, regions where the graph is increasing and decreasing,
algol [13]

Answer:

f(x) + 2 is translated 2 units up and -(1/2)*f(x) is reflected across x-axis.

Step-by-step explanation:

We have f(x) becomes f(x) + 2.

The y-intercept of f(x) is f(0), implies that y-intercept of f(x) + 2 is f(0) + 2. This means that the graph of f(x) is translated 2 units upwards.

Moreover, the region where f(x) increases will be the same region region where f(x) + 2 increases and there will not any change in the size of the figure.

Now, we have f(x) becomes -(1/2)*f(x).

The y-intercept of -(1/2)*f(x) is -(1/2)*f(0). This means that the graph is dilated by 1/2 units and then reflected across x-axis.

Moreover, the region where f(x) increases will be the opposite region region where -(1/2)*f(x) increases and the size of the figure will change as dilation of 1/2 is applied to f(x)
