Read the passage. UFOs, or unidentified flying objects, are often the topic of science fiction novels. In reality, UFOs are ofte

n aircraft, kites, clouds, or meteors that observers are unable to recognize at first glance. A UFO near Roswell, New Mexico, made headlines in the mid-twentieth century and remains a pop-culture phenomenon. In more modern history, satellite launches have caused rocket debris that is often observed and reported as a UFO. What is the purpose of this passage?

The purpose of this passage is to clarify what a UFO is. The passage tells you that even though UFOs often star in science fiction movies, most UFOs are actually aircraft, kites, clouds, meteors or rocket debris. It also cites a famous case in order to provide evidence for their claim.

Dells got the money by trying to save some here and there. She negotiated prices when buying food, to try to get it for cheaper, “until one’s cheeks burned with the silent parsimony that such close dealing implied”. Parsimony means being very frugal.

O. Henry wrote, “life is made up of sobs, sniffles, and smiles,” meaning that life is either very bad (sobs), very good (smiles), or somewhere in the middle (sniffles). Della is in a situation where she feels defeated and can’t fix things in time. When O. Henry says, “with sniffles predominating” it means that life is mostly full of disappointment.

Compare the use of thou in shakespeare and the king james version of the bible
Juliette [100K]
The use of the pronoun is also still present in poetry. ... In addition, the translators of the King James Version of the Bible attempted to maintain the distinction found in Hebrew between singular and plural second person pronouns. As such, they used "thou" for singular, and "you" for plural.
