The two triangleshaped gardens are congruent. Find all of the missing side lengths and angle measures. Show any necessary work

The two figures are in the file attached.

Congruency means that all the respcetive sides and angles are equals.

Then, the three angles are :

y = 38°

x = 90°

w = 180° - 90° - 38° = 52

The three sides are:

z= 10yd
v= 7.9yd
u=6.2yd

You have all the measures as a function of yd, but you do not have any information about yd, then it is not possible to find the real lenghts.

All you can tell is that the sides obey Pythagoream theorem:

u^2 + v^2 = z^2

But that is not enough to find one side, because you do not know any of them.

For example if you apply Pytagorean theorem you cand do"

(7.9yd)^2 + (6.2)^2 = (10yd)^2

but that cannot be solved for yd, because they are factors of all the terms in both sides, which mean that they cancel to obtain:

(7.9)^2 + (6.2)^2 = (10)^2, which is not any new information.

Also you can think about sine theorem, but it does not help, because you also need one side.

Then you only can tell the missing angles, as I have shown, but not the misssing lengths.

Identify and explain the four steps for solving a problem. Should any other factors be accounted for when solving a problem? Sho
mihalych1998 [28]
Step 1: simplify the equation by using the distributive property where applicable and combining like trems
Step 2: Collect all the variables on one side by either adding or subtracting.
step 3:Using inverse operations for addition and subtraction can removecontants ,toget the vaiables and constants on opposite sides.
Step 4:Inverse operations, such as multiplying and dividing can be used to eliminate coefficients in front of variables to get the variables by themselves

Carlo and Anita make mailboxes and toys in their wood shop. Each mailbox requires 1 hour of work from Carlo and 4 hours from Ani
Natali [406]

Answer:

$80

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of hours required to make a mailbox = x

Let the number of hours required to make a toy = y

Each mailbox requires 1 hour of work from Carlo and 4 hours from Anita.

Each toy requires 1 hour of work from Carlo and 1 hour from Anita.

The table below summarizes the information for ease of understanding.

\left|\begin{array}{c|c|c|c}&$Mailbox(x)&$Toy(y)&$Maximum Number of Hours\\--&--&--&------------\\$Carlo&1&1&12\\$Anita&4&1&24\end{array}\right|

We have the constraints:

x+y \leq 12\\4x+y \leq 24\\x \geq 0\\y \geq 0

Each mailbox sells for $10 and each toy sells for $5.

Therefore, Revenue, R(x,y)=10x+5y

The given problem is to:

Maximize, R(x,y)=10x+5y

Subject to the constraints

x+y \leq 12\\4x+y \leq 24\\x \geq 0\\y \geq 0

The graph is plotted and attached below.

From the graph, the feasible region are:

(0,0), (6,0), (4,8) and (0,12)

At (6,0), 10x+5y=10(6)+5(0)=60

At (4,8), 10(4)+5(8)=80

At (0,12), 10(0)+5(12)=60

The maximum revenue occurs when they use 4 hours on mailboxes and 8 hours on toys.

The maximum possible revenue is $80.

Would this be 0/20??
Alexandra [31]

Answer:

No, it would be -14/20

Step-by-step explanation:

When you subtract from a negative your answer is still going to be negative.

-7 - 7 = -14
