Why aren't citizens interested in local politics
ElenaW [278]

Answer:

Probably because it isn't as popular as the politics that the president or vice president take part in. They're much bigger powers, while local politicians aren't that much of a bigger power than the POTUS or VP.

According to the reading, how did early white Americans feel about Native Americans?
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

The ancestors of living Native Americans arrived in what is now the United States at least 15,000 years ago, possibly much earlier, from Asia via Beringia. A vast variety of peoples, societies and cultures subsequently developed. The Indian Removal Act implemented federal-government policy towards its Indian populations, moving Native American tribes east of the Mississippi to lands west of the river. Although the act did not authorize the forced removal of indigenous tribes, it enabled the president to negotiate land-exchange treaties. They hoped to transform the tribes people into civilized Christians through their daily contacts. The Native Americans resented and resisted the colonists' attempts to change them. Their refusal to conform to European culture angered the colonists and hostilities soon broke out between the two groups.
