How did President Kennedy address civil rights?

History

Kennedy's presidency inspired American people with charm and optimism; addressing the social challenges of his term when he included "<em>tyranny, poverty and war</em>" among "<em>the common enemies of man</em>" into his inaugural speech, as a glimpse of his domestic policies on society, which by the way included ambitious programs on education, spotting <em>education</em> as key to civil rights and equality; especially to the disenfranchised, reason why he appointed African Americans positions in government, supported integration in universities, proposed national civil rights laws, and the creation of "<em>Peace Corps</em>" inspiring Americans to help mankind.

As each state ratified the Constitution, it was publicly celebrated such as in these cartoons in the Massachusetts Centinel. Why
Pani-rosa [81]

It was important that many states as possible ratified the Constitution because only when nine out of 13 states ratify it, the Constitution and the new government of the United States would be enacted.

Many states resisted the Constitution, so celebration was important when each of them ratified it because it showed the American people supported the new country and government that was proposed in the Constitution.
