Hi,

Here are the solutions.

1.

6 = x + \frac{2}{3} \\ - x + 6 = \frac{2}{3} \\ - x = \frac{2}{3} - 6 \\ - x = - \frac{16}{3} \\ \\ x = \frac{16}{3} = 5 \frac{1}{3} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: \: (result)

2.

13 + \frac{w}{7} = - 18 \\ \\ - 5 + \frac{w}{7} \: \: \: \: \: \: \: (result)

3.

17 = - 13 - 8x \\ 8x + 17 = - 13 \\ 8x = - 13 - 17 \\ 8x = - 30 \: \: \: | \: \div 8 \\ \\ x = - \frac{15}{4} = - 3 \frac{3}{4} \: \: \: \: \: (result)

Hope this helps.

Plz this is due today help me explain the answer
Natali [406]

Answer:

177.3 feet

This is a classic find the vertex of a parabola question.

if this was a calculus class the solution would be to take the derivative and set it equal to zero... -32t+ 105 = 0

BUT i assume that you are not in a calculus class..

so we try plan "B" the  highest (or lowest) point of parabola is it's vertex

the vertex formula is [-b/2a,f(-b/2a)]

in your problem a = -16, b=105, c= 5

so the "X" (TIME) is located at -(105)/(2*-16) = 3.28

plug in 3.28 into -16(3.28)^2 + 105(3.28) + 5 = 177.27

and you will get

Joe's annual income has been increasing in the same dollar amount. The first year his income was $15,200, and the 4th year his i
lidiya [134]

Answer:

Therefore 6th year his income was $19,700.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given, Joe's annual income has been increasing in some dollar amount . The first year his income was $15,200 and 4th  year his income was $17,900.

A=$17900, P= $15,200 and n = 3 year

A= P(1+\frac{r}{100} )^n

\Leftrightarrow 17900=15200(1+\frac{r}{100})^3

\Leftrightarrow (1+\frac{r}{100})^3=\frac{17900}{15200}

\Leftrightarrow (1+\frac{r}{100})=(\frac{17900}{15200})^{\frac{1}{3} }

\Leftrightarrow \frac{r}{100}=(\frac{17900}{15200})^{\frac{1}{3} }-1

\Leftrightarrow r=5.60

Let  t^{th} year Joe's income was $19,700.

\therefore 19700=15,200(1+\frac{5.60}{100} )^{t-1}

\Leftrightarrow 1.296= (1+0.056)^{t-1}

\Leftrightarrow 1.296= (1.056)^{t-1}

\Leftrightarrow  log(1.296)= (t-1)log(1.056)

\Leftrightarrow  \frac{log(1.296)}{log(1.056)}= (t-1)

\Leftrightarrow t-1= 4.75

\Leftrightarrow t= 4.75+1

\Leftrightarrow t = 5.75 ≈6

Therefore 6th year his income was $19,700.

Each lap around the park is 0.58 mile. Jessica walked 3.25 laps around the park. How many miles did Jessica walk around the park
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

5 miles but she did walk part of another mile so that would be 5.35.

Step-by-step explanation:

you can take 3.25 and subtract that by 0.58 until you can't do it anymore. Also I didn't know if you wanted the exact amount which would be 5.35 but total miles is only 5. Hope this helps!
