What did Andreas Vesalius, William Harvey, and Robert Hooke have in common?
never [62]

Answer:

They were all part of the scientific revolution

Explanation:

William Harvey

Through dissection, Harvey (1578-1657) was the first to demonstrate that the circulation of blood through the human body is continuous, rather than consisting of different types circulating through the veins and arteries, as had been previously assumed by the ancient Greek physician, Galen.

Andreas Vesalius

As a student and professor in Belgium and Paris, Vesalius (1514-1564) was educated in the anatomical works and theories of the ancient Greek physician Galen, whose views on anatomy had long been the standard in Europe. Vesalius questioned Galen's authority, and published On the Fabric of the Human Body in 1543. It is considered the first great modern work of science, and the foundation of modern biology.

So Andreas Vesalius, William Harvey, Anton van Leeuwenhoek and

Robert Hooke made historic advances in our understanding of living things,

yet were not responsible for true paradigm shifts or concepts of major

significance. ‘There emerged no theory of protozoans, theory of human

anatomy and physiology, or theory of insect structure – nor could any

theories emerge since no fundamental questions were being asked, no major

hypotheses being tested.’

How did the rewards of athletic competition change over the years?
Zarrin [17]
At ancient Greek sports festivals it was the custom to give ribbons to winning athletes. Later, at the awards' ceremony, the athlete received a wreath of leaves such as olive, laurel or wild celery leaves, depending on the festival. The identity of the athlete and the event he won are not known. Athletes are selected by their respective NOCs, who are responsible for supporting them and entering them for the Games. The IOC sends out invitation letters to all NOCs one year before the Opening Ceremony and those NOCS then submit entries for the Games who are then approved or otherwise by the IOC. They got The Olympic Order award for winning.

Who was included in the Republican Party of 1854? Select four responses.
Makovka662 [10]

Answer:

The Republican Party was created precisely in 1854, and the main goal of the party was to oppose to the expansion of slavery in the new territories of the Western United States. This is because the Kansas-Nebraska act of 1854 allowed the expansion of Slavery in those territories.

The Republican Party formed a coaltion of anti-slavery (or abolitionist) intellectuals and activists, african americans, businessmen from the northern industrial cities, farmers, and factory workers.
