Time is an important variable in many psychological concepts. Describe a specific example that clearly demonstrates an understan

ding of each of the following concepts and how it relates to or is affected by time. Use a different example for each concept: critical period, fluid intelligence, Piaget's theory of cognitive development, moral reasoning, presentation of the conditioned stimulus (CS) and unconditioned stimulus (UCS) in classical conditioning, refractory period in neural firing, sound localization, spontaneous recovery, and self-concept.

A critical period is a stage in life of an organism during which the nervous system is especially sensitive to certain environmental stimuli.

Fluid Intelligence is the ability to solve new problems immediately, that is, it flows with dexterity, almost instinctively, automatically, at any given moment.

Jean Piaget's theory of cognitive development suggests that children go through four different stages of mental development. His theory focuses not only on understanding how children acquire knowledge, but also on the very nature of intelligence.

Moral Reasoning points out that through a maturational and interactive process, everyone has the capacity to reach full moral competence.

In classical conditioning, the conditioned stimulus is a previously neutral stimulus that, after becoming associated with the unconditioned stimulus, eventually triggers a conditioned response.

In classical conditioning, the unconditioned response is the naturally occurring response in response to the unconditioned stimulus. For example, if the smell of food is the unconditioned stimulus, the feeling of hunger in response to the smell of food is the unconditioned response.

Refractory Period delayed response interval that occurs when two stimuli are presented in immediate succession.

Sound Localization is the ability to determine the location of a sound.

Spontaneous recovery refers to the reappearance of the conditioned response after a rest period or less response period. If conditioned stimulus unconditioned stimulus are not associated, extinction.

Self-Concept is a term that has a long history in psychology. William James, one of the fathers of psychology, distinguished in 1892 between the "I" as the knowing inner instance (I as knower) and the "self" as the individual's knowledge of himself.

An example of the consequences of individual differences would be that A) Some workers can concentrate longer and harder on thei
timurjin [86]

In the early 1900's , a company often provided a company town, a place where the worker could live in the near working location ( usually like a mining location)

The workers usually were lured by the promise of high wage.

But here's the thing, in company town, a source of living usually can only obtained in a company store, and the cost is really high.

So instead of getting a high wage, the workers trapped in huge debt to the company, creating some sort of slavery that they have to work to pay off their debt to the company

Techincally, the company could easily bring those workers to the court ( even though is very cruel, they obtain the debt in a 'legal' way), so basically workers cant do a thing

The ________ surrounds the male urethra but doesn't really play much of a role in reproduction
krok68 [10]
The answer here is CORPUS CAVERNOSUM containing the erectile tissue. The male urethra travels through the penis and is the passageway of semen and urine. It is surrounded by erectile tissue which facilitates penile erection. The penis, on the other hand, is composed of three cylinders wrapped in a fascia: corpus spongiosum and two corpus cavernosa. The corpus cavernosa is the one containing the erectile tissue which facilitates penile erection. Erectile tissue is capable of stiffening and engorgement of blood. During sexual intercourse, there is an increase of blood flow in the erectile tissue and becomes it filled with blood resulting to stiffening or enlargement of the penis.

Generating Win-Win Solutions
Sergio [31]

Answer:

 1. If they really want to go together, Pat and Mark could make a one-week trip to the beach, and spend the second-week hiking in the mountains. They could also choose to go on separate trips, so each can spent the entire vacation in their desired destination. Or they could go together to one of those places and agree to let the other person choose the destination in a future trip.
 2. Given that it´s Pat´s money, She should be able to decide, and Mark can enjoy the result of whatever she chooses. Pat could accept Mark´s choice by making sure he brings something to the table, like being in charge of organizing the vacation, and make it to a place Pat really would like to go. They could also split the money and make a small trip as well as buying either the computer or the printer, but not both.
 3. Pat could try to change her behavior and use the opportunity to ask Mark to change something she dislikes about him. Or, they could just accept that Pat is just not an organized person, find something Mark is not good at as well. Let´s say, ironing his own clothes. They could agree that each of them will take charge of what the other person won´t do.
 4. It´s difficult to find a win-win resolution to this case because workers have a legal right to assemble and fight for fair wages. Management could concede on a lower raise as long as they can offer some other perks, like providing food for their employers.

Explanation:

Personally, win-win strategies help me understand that when resolving conflicts one must consider the other side´s needs and be willing to compromise. I usually become a little stubborn when in such a situation, focusing on how I´m right and others should accept that. Trying to come with win-win solutions will probably help me get better results and keep relationships healthy.
