Answer:

If length of the field is 30 ft, then width is 120 ft.

If the  length of the field is 60 ft, then width is 60 ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume the length of the rectangular park = L ft

Let us assume the breadth of the rectangular park = B  ft

Now, AREA of the given park =  L x B

⇒ L x B  = 3,600 sq ft   ... (1)

Also, the perimeter of three sides  = 180 ft

⇒ 2 L +  B  = 180  ..... (2)

Now, from (1) and (2), we get:

L x B  = 3,600

2 L +  B  = 180   ⇒ B  = 180 - 2 L

Substitute this in(1) , we get:

L x B  = 3,600   ⇒ L x (180 - 2 L)  = 3600

\implies  180 L - 2L^2 = 3600\\\implies L^2 -90L + 1800 = 0\\\implies (L-30)(L-60)= 0

⇒ L = 30 or L  = 60

So, if L  = 30  ft , then B = 180 - 2L  =  180 - 60 = 120 ft

So, if L  = 60  ft , then B = 180 - 2L  =  180 - 120 = 60 ft

So, if length of the field is 30 ft, then width is 120 ft.

And if the  length of the field is 60 ft, then width is 60 ft.

The sum of two numbers is twenty-four. The difference of the two numbers is four.
RSB [31]

Answer:

x + y = 24

x - y = 4

Now, add these two equations.

You get,

2x = 28

x =  \frac{28}{2}

x = 14

Given,

x + y = 24

14 + y = 24

y = 24 - 14

y = 10

You can test this to the other equation as well.

x - y = 4

14 - 10 = 4

Hence, the two numbers are 14 and 10.

Which of the following shows the best way to set up the product of (2x - 5) and<br> (4 - 3x + 4.)?
masha68 [24]

Answer:

  C

Step-by-step explanation:

It usually works best to use the polynomial with fewer terms as the multiplier. A row of partial products is written for each term of the multiplier, so the fewer terms will result in fewer rows of partial products.

In order to keep like terms together, it is preferable to allocate a separate column of the multiplication tableau to each power of the operands or product. This means we want to make note of the fact that the cubic multiplicand has a coefficient of 0 for its x^2 term.

The best setup is the one shown in the attachment.

Let f(x) be a continuous function such that f(1) and f'(x)-Vx3 + 6. What is the value of,f(5)? (A) 11.446 (C) 24.672 (B) 13.446
tia_tia [17]

Answer:

f(5) = 26.672 which is option D

Step-by-step explanation:

From question, f(1) = 2 and f'(x)=√(x^3 + 6)

f(5) = f(1) + (5,1)∫ f'(x) dx

Integrating using the boundary 5 and 1;

f(5) = 2 + (5,1)∫√(x^3 + 6) dx

f(5) = 2 + 24.672

So f(5) = 26.672
