Jack Kerouac was a very influential Canadian-American author, novelist, poet, and literary iconoclast in the 1930's. He also created the beat generation of the 1950's.

Plessy v. Ferguson upheld segregation laws and made segregation the law of the land. Until this court case, states had laws about segregation, such as separate train cars for black and white, but were not enforceable across state lines. This court case now said that segregation, as long as it was equal, was constitutionally valid, and it became the law of the land until 1954.
Plains Indians lived in tipis, which could easily be taken down and transported when necessary. They had incredible horse-riding and archery skills, which allowed them to effectively hunt buffalo and travel across the Plains. Finally, they developed skills which allowed them to utilise every part of the buffalo.
It was the "Progressives" who worked to inform the public about injustices of the Progressive Era, since their main goal was to eliminate corruption in both big business and the government.
