This is because both Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands were unincorporated territories of the United States with the U.S president as head of State. There was no need to patrol Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands as the U.S blockade was against Cuba, not against the two U.S territories.

Which term describes this type of diplomacy, which was used specifically to describe American actions during Panama's revolution
umka2103 [35]

Answer: Gunboat Diplomacy.

Explanation: This is when a nation uses the threat of force or conspicuous displays of firepower to have influence in foreign policy, and it's called "Gunboat Diplomacy". The president Roosevelt used this tactic as a way to secure Panama's independence from Colombia; in a way of exchange the United States was able to secure access to what would become the Panama Canal.

Hope this helps.

Example #1 of a "gap" or problem a dictator could step in to fill/fix (2-3
Alex787 [66]

Answer:

An example of a problem or situation for which dictators appear to provide "solutions" to their country (although in reality they end up establishing authoritarian and violent governments) is, for example, a social or political conflict within the nation's society.

Thus, for example, after the conflict between the monarchy and the republicans in Spain in the 1930s, the dictator Francisco Franco entered the scene, establishing a dictatorship that lasted 36 years.
