Let the length of the rectangle be 'L' and

Width of the rectangle be 'W'

Length = 2*Width+17

L=2*W+17

Area = 69 square inches

Area of the rectangle=

                                Length * Width\\\\                69 = (2W+17)*W \\\\                2W^2+17W=69

   Dividing by '2' both the sides:

                               W^2+8.5W=34.5\\\\W(W+8.5)=34.5\\\\W=34.5inch\\OR\\W+8.5=34.5\\W=34.5-8.5\\W=26 inch

                 

W=34.5 inch   OR         W=26 inch
