It lacked a list of basic human rights. They wanted the Bill of Rights added since those rights were not protected under British rule. The only way some of the states agreed to sign the Constitution was if a Bill of Rights was added

Virginia's climate allowed many crops to grow on the lands of many white rich landowners. So, in order to increase the harvesting and planting they transported slaves from Africa in the trans Atlantic slave trade, resulting in the establishment of slavery.
