This sheet is an example of the oldest existing teaching method . . .
the idea that after you learn something new, you do it 900 times
in order to make it stick, and then put it away until the test.

The 24 problems in the top section are all the same, and the
20 problems in the bottom section are all the same. I'll show you
how to do two problems in each section. That'll give you everything
you need to know to finish the section.

Top section:

Move things around in each equation
to get it in the form [ax + by = c] a, b, and c are numbers.

#1).                    y = x + 2

You need the 'x' on the other side,
so subtract 'x' from each side:          -x + y = 2 .
That's it. It's in the required form.
'a' = -1
'b' = +1
'c' = 2

#22).                          y + 3x = 6

Everything is on the correct side.
Just write the left side in the other direction.

                                  3x + y = 6
That's it.
It's in the required form.
'a' = 3
'b' = 1
'c' = 6

Bottom section:

Move things around in each equation
to get it in the form [y = mx + b] 'm' and 'b' are numbers.

#1).                                              x + y = 3

You need 'x' on the other side.
Subtract 'x' from each side:            y = -x + 3
That's it.
It's in the required form.
'm' = -1
'b' = 3

#6):                                      7x + 3y = 21

First, you need
the 'x' on the other side.
Subtract 7x from each side:      3y = -7x + 21

Now, you need to make the 3y
into just 'y'.
Divide each side by 3:                  y = -7/3 x + 7
That's it.
It's in the required form.
'm' = -7/3
'b' =  7

This whole page is just shifting things around to make them
look like the right form.
Just do whatever you need to do in order to make one side
look correct, and then don't forget that whatever you do to
one side, you must also immediately do to the other side.

Solve the proportion. i need help.
x+3/6=8/3

x=?
stellarik [79]

Answer:

x = 2 1/6 (13/6)

Step-by-step explanation:

to solve the proportion you must first find the LCF or least common factor

that is 6

so turn 8/3 into 16/6 by multiplying it by 2/2

x + 3/6 = 16/6

then you subtract 3/6 from both sides

x = 13/6

x is 2 1/6
