Answer:

Hey there!

We use the distance formula to find the distances between each of these points.

From -2, 1 to 6, 1 is a total of 8 units.

From 6, 1 to 6, -3 is a total of 4 units.

From 6, -3 to 9, -3 is a total of 3 units.

8+4+3=15 units.

Let me know if this helps :)

Answer:

Part A

The rotation of the point (x, y) 180° about the origin gives the point (-x, -y)

Therefore, we have the points, ΔLMN, L(1, 1), and M(2, 2), and N(3, 3)

The coordinates of the vertices of the image, ΔL'M'N' are L'(-1, -1), and M'(-2, -2), and N'(-3, -3)

Please find attached the graph of triangle ΔLMN and ΔL'M'N'

Part B

The lines drawn through L and L' and through M and M' are colinear

Part C

A line is defined by two points, such as L and M. Rotation of a line through 180° about the origin will give an image location on the same path as the extension of the original line.

The third point, N, however, defines a plane, and the rotation of a plane by 180° will give an image which is turned upside down with regards to the preimage

Therefore, a trough in the preimage becomes a peak in the image and the lines drawn through N and N' crosses the colinear lines drawn throgh M and M' and L and L'

Angle $eab$ is a right angle, and $be = 9$ units. what is the number of square units in the sum of the areas of the two squares
Alla [95]
Let the measure of side AB be x, then, the measue of side AE is given by

AE=\sqrt{9^2-x^2}.

Now, ABCD is a square of size x, thus the area of square ABCD is given by

Area=x^2

Also, AEFG is a square of size \sqrt{9^2-x^2}, thus, the area of square AEFG is given by

Area=\left(\sqrt{9^2-x^2}\right)^2=9^2-x^2=81-x^2

The sum of the areas of the two squares ABCD and AEFG is given by

x^2+81-x^2=81

Therefore, the number of square units in the sum of the areas of the two squares ABCD and AEFG is 81 square units.

mary purchased 3 1/2 pounds of bananas. If the loaf of banana bread requires 3/4 pounds of bananas, how many loaves of banana br
nikklg [1K]
For this one a simple way that you can think of it is that 1 pound of banana is equivalent to 100, 3/4 pounds of banana is 75, 1/2 pounds of banana is 50, etc.

3 1/2 pounds of banana = 350

3/4 pounds of banana = 75

If i want to find out how many loafs of banana bread I can make if ONE loaf requires 3/4 pounds of banana, and i have 3 1/2 pounds of banana then I divide:

350 / 75 = 4.66

So, with 3 1/2 pounds of bananas you can successfully create 4 loafs of banana bread. the remaining .66 is not enough banana to make another loaf.

The quadratic function h(t)=-16.1t^2 + 150 models a balls height, in feet, over time, in seconds, after it is dropped from a 15
zzz [600]
In order to find height from where ball is dropped, you have to find height or h(t) when time or t is zero.So plug in t=0 into your quadratic equation:h(0) = -16.1(0^2) + 150h(0) = 0 +150h(0) = 150 ft is the height from where ball is dropped. When ball hits the ground, the height is zero. So plug in h(t) = 0 and solve for t.0 = -16.1t^2 + 15016.1 t^2 = 150t^2 = 150/16.1t = sqrt(150/16.1)t = ± 3.05Since time cannot be negative, your answer is positive solution i.e. t = 3.05
