X = length of half the base

If you draw out a triangle, the horizontal leg will be x, the vertical leg will be 147 and the angle of inclination (or angle of elevation) is 52 degrees

You'll use tangent to find x

tan(angle) = opposite/adjacent
tan(52) = 147/x
x*tan(52) = 147
x = 147/tan(52)
x = 114.84 ... this is approximate

Half the base is 114.84, so the full base is 2*114.84 = 229.68 which rounds to 230

The final answer is D.

If each interior angle of a regular polygon measures 168 how many sides does the polygon have
lbvjy [14]

Answer:

If the interior angle is 168, then the exterior angle is 180 - 168, or 12. The 360 degrees is evenly distributed over all of the angles, so 360/12 = 30 sides. The formula for the sum of the angles in an n-sided polygon (in degrees) is 180(n-2).

Write a rule for the nth term of the geometric sequence for which a1=−6 and a5=−486
patriot [66]

The geometric rule for the nth term of the geometric sequence for which a1 =−6 and a5=−486 is -6 × 3^(n - 1)

The nth term of a geometric sequence

First term, a1 = -6

Fifth term, a5 = -486

a5 = ar^(n - 1)

-486 = -6 × r^(5-1)

-486 = -6r⁴

r⁴ = -486 / 6

r⁴ = 81

r = 4√81

r = 3

Geometric rule:

nth term = ar^(n-1)

nth term = -6 × 3^(n - 1)
