Van Gogh’s painting Starry Night measures 92 cm long by 73 cm high. You buy two posters, each showing an enlargement of the pa

inting. The first poster measures 120 cm long by 100 cm high. The second poster measures 138 cm long by 109.5 cm high. Which of the following is true? (Hint: To be an accuarate representation of the painting, would the the poster be similar to the painting?)

I think it's 138 Long by 109.5 more accurate .
92/73 = 1.26
120/100 = 1.2
138/109.5 =1.26
Hence 138 by 109.5 is more proportionate

Determine the number of real solutions of -2x2 + 5x - 3 = 0.
andrew11 [14]

-2x^2 + 5x -3 =0

Find the discriminate:

In the given formula a = -2, b = 5 and c = -3

The discriminate is found using the formula b^2 - 4(ac)

Replace the letters with their values:

5^2 - 4(-2*-3)

25 - 4*6

25-24 = 1

When the discriminate is greater than or equal to 0, there are two real solutions.

The answer is c) 2

Tanya [424]

Answer:

2.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

(x_1,y_1) = (-1,0.8)

(x_2,y_2) = (0,2)

(x_3,y_3) = (1,5)

(x_4,y_4) = (2,12.5)

Required

The rate of change (b)

The above graph is represented as:

y = ab^x

For: (x_2,y_2) = (0,2);

We have:

y = ab^x

2 = a * b^0

2 = a *1

2 = a

a = 2

For (x_3,y_3) = (1,5),

We have:

y = ab^x

5 = a * b^1

5 = a * b

Substitute a = 2

5 = 2 * b

Divide by 2

2.5 = b

b = 2.5

Hence, the rate of change is 2.50

.
How do we write simple expressions using long & synthetic division?

Explain
igomit [66]

Answer:

For not exact divisions: Writing the results as Quotient + Remainder over the Divisor.

For exact division: just the quotient.

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi there,

In both algorithms, for long and synthetic divisions we must write the result as an expression following that order:

Dividend: Divisor=Qx+\frac{Rx}{Dx}

When the Division leaves no Remainder, i.e. an exact, the Remainder is equal to zero, so

Dividend: Divisor=Qx

Check below for the algorithms for each division and the way of writing their expressions (results).
